# 3. How and why should one join?

*\*Note: Galactica Citizen Node (GCN) was previously referred to as Galactica Network Citizenship (GNC).*

To join the network and become a Citizen one should participate in **Galactica Node Distribution (GND)** i.e. Node Sale. Node sales are an alternative to traditional token sales, enabling users to earn their spot based on contributions rather than just financial capital.

**GND** grants an **SBT** to donors, allowing them access to the Node Drop. To earn **Galactica Network UBI**, one must hold a node & complete tasks outlined in the **Soul Matrix**. Rewards are merit-based.

With our Node Sale, users are also unlocking active participation and long-term rewards in the Galactica ecosystem. The more you contribute, the more you earn, with real merit-based incentives.

**Key Benefits**:

* **Meritocracy at its Finest**: The harder you contribute, the bigger your share of rewards.
* **Unique Node Designs**: Choose between **Galactica Citizen Nodes (GCNs)** and Galactica **Node Shards (GNS)** — each unlocking access to Node Drop, UBI, and Validation Rewards.
* **Exclusive Rewards**: Over 30% of $GNET Supply dedicated to Node Sale participants.

Following sections will provide more information about the structure of GND and step-by-step guides on how to obtain a GCN.
